about
It started with curiosity and a trowel
where thinking meets dirt
Plantelligence grew from the same questions that guide all my work: how structure helps us see things more clearly, and how curiosity keeps those structures alive.
Here, the framework is literal: beds, roots, light, and time.
The process is both method and metaphor for learning, for patience, for paying attention.
I do not garden to perfect anything. I garden to notice.
To see what thrives, what fails, and what quietly teaches me something new.
notes, experiments, and fieldwork
This space gathers what I have learned and what I am still learning from years of soil, spreadsheets, and seed packets. It is part record, part reflection, and part quiet investigation.
Each season, I test ideas in real beds and digital ones, tracing patterns between what grows, what fails, and what adapts. You will find connections between process and patience, logic and luck.
- Thinking in Soil: reflections and essays on what the garden reveals about process, growth, and imperfection.
- Learning in Bloom: plant observations, experiments, and systems for tending the living parts of the garden.
Together they form a living record of how structure and discovery meet — and how curiosity keeps them both alive.
Plantelligence is one of several creative spaces under the byKathi umbrella, alongside The Curiosity Scaffold (ideas and essays) and future studios still taking shape.
Each space explores how curiosity becomes practice, whether that practice happens in code, in community, or here, in the garden.
Every season teaches something new if you’re willing to get your hands dirty.
